The Interview
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Cheryl Mackey. I am a wife of 19 years and a mother of 2 teenage boys. I’ve been an avid reader and writer since age 6 (you can imagine the garbage I wrote at that age!)
What genre do you write? Why?
I write science fantasy which is fantasy with threads of science fiction woven within. I enjoy creating fantastical worlds to fill with interesting creatures, people, cultures, and concepts!
Do you have any pets?
I currently do not, which makes me sad.
What is your favorite hobby?
Aside from reading? I enjoy cross stitching!
If you could be one person who would it be?
I would like to be a musician or singer, but alas I am tone deaf!
Do you like to write with a pen and paper or computer?
I prefer to write on my computer. Too much to revise to use erasers or white out!
What do you have in the works right now?
I have currently just begun writing book 4 of The Immortals.
Tell us an interesting fact about the world your books revolve around.
The world in my book series, The Immortals, involves arrogant gods who created The Immortals to fight their battles for Them. They did this by cruelly ripping mortals from their lives and reincarnating them as powerful, magical, warriors. The problem? The Immortals only have immortal souls, not bodies and every time they reincarnate…they lose their memories.
What should we expect from you in the coming months?
I look to provide updates on the final book of The Immortals as I write, through my newsletter and social media.

Cheryl lives in Southern California with her husband and 2 sons. Her books The Unknown Sun and The Immortals parts 1 and 2 are both young adult fantasy and available at Amazon. Part 3 is out now!. She currently has a flash fiction story published online at The Prompt Magazine.
She has a MFA in Creative Writing and enjoys games, reading and, of course, writing.
Her favorite genres to write and read are fantasy, space opera, and science fiction. Her favorite author is JRR Tolkien.
