How would you describe yourself?

I guess you could say I’ve never really fit in anywhere.  My home life was always difficult, and the city repulses me.  I feel most comfortable out in the quiet woodlands of Tyroc, held aloft in the branches of swaying trees, and in the company of all the wild animals and a sky full of stars.  I never felt so lost or heartbroken as I did when the Hounds overran my favorite place by the stream, making it too dangerous to go there.  So many things have changed, I am uncertain about my future.  But this journey my sisters and I have begun gives me new purpose, and a hope that I’m meant for something more.

Do you have any regrets?

If anything, I regret not pressing my mother harder to tell me who my father is.  Most likely it would have done no good, and I would have ended up taking a beating for my efforts.  But she is the only person who knows, and now that she is out of my life, it saddens me to think that I will never learn the answer or find out what became of him.

What is your biggest fear?

We had a frightening encounter with trolls early in our journey, and I will admit, they still haunt my nightmares.  I know I should fear the Hounds more, but the thought of being pursued by trolls leaves me feeling paralyzed with panic.  I sincerely hope that I never encounter them again!

What is your greatest weakness?

I don’t connect with other people very well—they think I am strange because I am so quiet and spend most of my time alone in the wilderness.  All that is about to change though.  Morganne tells me that Minhaven is a small, remote village in the mountains.  When we get there I will need to learn to fit into the community, not only for the sake of my survival, but that of my sisters.

What are your strengths?

My wood skills are my greatest strength.  I can move through the trees like a shadow and cover any trace of my presence as I go.  I also know how to forage, and fish, and though I can hunt if necessary, I prefer not to.  These skills took me a long time to master, but they have served me well and I can stay out alone for long periods of time without needing to return home.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

My life.  I was once caught unaware by a Hound, and it nearly killed me.  A stranger named Einar came to my rescue, and in time we became friends.  I cannot tell you his story because it might even now endanger him.  I can only hope that one day I will find him, and thank him again.  Without his gift, all others would have been meaningless.

What makes you laugh?

I laugh at the antics of the forest animals, especially the young ones.  They sometimes do funny things when they do not realize they are being watched.  That is one of the benefits of being still and quiet, and blending into the landscape.

Who are your heroes?

My heroes are Einar and the true Circle of the Sovereign.  Everything has been taken from them, and that injustice still weighs on my heart like a millstone.  Despite all that happened, they continue to fight for what is right, and I pray that one day they will find the peace they deserve.
